DESCRIPTION:Several members of this ning will be providing music for t
 his event. All are welcome to join in.\n150th Anniversary of the Emanc
 ipation Proclamation  On January 1, 1863 President Abraham Lincoln is
 sued the Emancipation Proclamation to a divided nation. There were man
 y mixed reviews among North and South. Join historian Earl James who w
 ill explore the Emancipation Proclamation and explain what it really m
 eant for freed persons of color, enslaved African Americans, and the r
 est of the American population from January 1863 until the end of the 
 American Civil War. The \"Trail to Freedom\", a living history guided 
 tour will take place throughout the day. In addition, museums and hist
 oric sites will present displays and exhibits of African American heri
 tage, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the American Civil War.\n
