Great to hear the banjo in that context. Sounds really good. Having never played or seen a baseball game, the video means nothing to me, but the music was delightful.

Very cool. I've seen that sheet music on ebay...didn't bid on it. I read an article on early baseball re-enactors recently. I dislike modern baseball but can easily see the enjoyment of the early game. Sort of like many 'sports' in their early stages...much fun to be had until money seeps in the cracks.

The sheet music cover that appears on the video is from 1867.  The sheet music for the tune in the audio was one from 1858, the earliest baseball-related music I have seen.  Both, as well as other early baseball music, can be found in the Lester Levy Collection, online at  http://levysheetmusic.mse.jhu.edu/

Most are not very conducive to banjo, but I attempted to put three songs and three polkas (all from 1867 except the polka from 1858) on a rather amateurish-done CD.......mostly for my teammates.

Great fun.  Loved the sound and the wonderful old pictures.
