Nice job Tim, you make it look easy. Al mentioned this tune to me but it's going to take some practice to figure out those octave runs on fiddle

Yeah.  That was nice!  Those octave runs are not easy in 'A' (as it was written) or 'G', as Tim plays it.

I've been trying to play it in 'G', to play with the banjo, and staying in the first position on those runs.

Neat tune - the B part contains a bit of musical DNA from some other tune and it's driving me nuts trying to figure out which one! I'll report back if it comes to me.

Oh yeah Ian I hear that too!- in the beginning of the B part.  Some fairly well known Irish fiddle tune maybe?  I've heard it for years in mixed Irish/oldtime/folk type sessions.
