Jim Crack Corn, or, The Blue Tail Fly was published in 1846 three years before Ladies Won't You Marry.  But is it really just the chorus that sounds similar.  Jim Crack Corn is a comedic song whereas Ladies Won't You Marry is a sentimental song.  But yup . . . you are right Curtis.  Very similar!  Best Wishes, Tom
