That's a nice little reel, and like several of these Baur pieces seems to have a familiar feel about it. A bit of borrowing perhaps, but it seems to work.

Yes, I though the same. I don't know that he has any direct lifts in there, but many are so familiar. Good writing, in my opinion. Many traditional types, but then weird ones like "Too Utterly Too"  "Electric Light Reel" and "Twisted Rope".

I think it's the chord progressions more than the melodies, and with a deeply-ingrained song like Arkansas Traveler I think our brains tend to fill in the blanks.
