For enthusiasts of early banjo

From Baur's Book 1883. Funny little melody, isn't it?

Nice. Too utterly too what I wonder...

… Oscar Wilde.  It is a Oscar Wilde reference.

Nothing says the mountains, folk music or old time more than this...

I somehow envision a softshoe/vaudeville routine when I hear this tune.

One of my favourites, Tim! Thanks to Joel for the Wilde info - I'd been wondering. I love playing this tune on a fretted instrument and throwing in some extra bass notes and chords. My piano-playing buddy Tom has a great accompaniment for it and we sometimes sneak it into shows in a medley with "Les Sylphides Mazourka". I should record it sometime.
