Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Though the lake is still covered with ice, the opening day of the baseball season is at least a symbolic debut of spring!
Another one I did 5 years ago and I probably should've cleaned it up a bit.
BTW, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong with YouTube. The last two times I tried to enter something took about 7 hrs each to download!

That was wonderful, Al!  This is going right onto my 'to learn' list.

Home run, Al!

Or rather, grand slam!

Thanks guys.  It's not one that works real well on banjo.  The first two parts are easy enough after experimenting where on the neck to play them.  The third part is tough.  Hence, you may have noticed that I simply played chords.  Playing the tin pan lid was a breeze, however!

Wonderful polka, You definitely didn't 'drop the ball' on that one,

I can see where the last part might be a little difficult to play, but do you have the music, or a site where it can be downloaded?  I would love to add it to my collection of songs that I will maybe try someday.

(What key did you play it in, Al?)

I played it in 'D' (Briggs' tuning).  As I stated, I recorded it on cheap recording software five years ago and I confess that I don't recall whether I may have skipped parts that are in the original sheet music.

I will transpose it (in 'G') and send it to the ning the way I attempted to play it.

Really nice Al, glad to see your "stepping up to the plate" with some videos!
