My work is gravitating towards using the fretted. The fretted banjo is inclusive to the repertoire, but the fretless finds its limitations stretched as the music increases in it's complexity. The skin head 6 bracket banjo still has a bit of that clumsy clunk to it, yet it can speed along swiftly. I am most attracted to it. Is this a logical line of developement in Early banjo? I think so.
