Tim,great playing as usual although as a southerner,I have to say that"Marching Through Georgia"is not one of my favorite songs ;)You know for us southerners the war just ended yesterday!I had to take a jab at that one :)I still love to hear you play though.

The tune of Marching through Georgia has long been part of the old-time fiddle repertoire in Ontario too - but without any "baggage" - or at least that's what I thought.  Years ago I put it on a cassette of early songs and tunes which was often played as background music at a historic site in Hamilton . Staff there were very surprised when they got complaints from a couple of  tourists visiting from south of the Mason Dixon line. I think they played the "ignorant Canadian" card.

Just wondering,  Would yall up north be offended by Bonnie Blue Flag being played.  Im not picking a fight Im really curious.  I personally would love to leave any anomosity left  way far behind. And see these tunes as historical treasures

This Northern boy does not mind hearing that song at all. I put up some tab for the tune, which is not done in a real straight style. I use it as a solo, and for vocal accompaniment, much like the Rice publication does.  Hope you like it.
