Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

There are two basic styles to use for Early Banjo. First is the Stroke Style, and the other is Guitar Style, often called Fingerstyle. Generally, one or the other is chosen for any given tune. However, I find that as the repertoire advances, there is no clear line between the styles....even to the point of using them in the same same. Converse mentions it briefly in his 1872 book The Banjo and How To Play It on Kentucky Juba.
