I always think of this tune as like 1800s jazz.  Keep up the good work Sonny!   :)

Sorry, typo error....that's Bob Lanham.

That piece makes so much more sense on the fiddle.

I wish I could remember where it came from. I thought someone put it here. Any recollections? It really had a swing to it...that sort of evades us banjoists. It's a hard tune.

Wes Merchant posted a link to two players, James Bryan and Carl Jones, playing Dr. Hecock's, on guitar and fiddle. They blew it away! I haven't heard any other fiddler versions. They played Kick up the Devil, too. Excellent!

Yes, that is sort of what I remember. Don't get me wrong Sonny, you did a killer job on this. I just recollect my own struggle with it, and then hearing the relief of the smooth fiddle players. The same is true for almost ALL of the "back of the Buckley" book. Not meant to be banjo material...just tossed in  for some reason. Maybe a bad joke for future generations...ha.

Good job Sonny! Great tune. Vincent Tufo does a great fiddle version on the Early Minstrel Show recording.

Thanks, guys! It's still fun to try to make musical sense out of the fiddle tunes on a fretless banjo.

Such a tripped out tune. Sounds good!
