Alright John! Nice. What is the "rasseljack"?
Do you think she (sweetheart) says "Dar he goes, oh dat's him" to bust him, or cheer him on?

Since the rasslejack is beginning to bray I assume that it is either a donkey or a mule.

Given that the gals came in to have some fun, and the old man is getting the gun, I don't think a sweetheart would be too happy with the situation, or with her beau... why wasn't he in the kitchen with her? What was he doing with those other gals?

Hey, I never saw this video-  Nicely done, John!  Thanks for bringing it up Charles.

Rasselejack- the word has 'jack ass' right in it...or leastways assjack...lol.  Dan Emmett also included more clues in his "Negro Sermon":

You see de debble comein down de hill
on a rasslejack, wid a ear like a backer leaf an' a tail like a cornstalk;
out ob he mouff comes pitchforks an' lightnin, an' him tail smoke like a
tar kill ! Whar is you now ? No time for 'pentin ; de debble kotch ye,
shoa !

Jackasses and mules do have ears like tobacco leaves.   :)
