Citizenship Ceremony at Smithsonian A&I Building, Star Spangled Banner (banjo and vocal)

One of the greatest honors I've enjoyed in my time working at the Smithsonian took place last Friday (7/7/17) at the Arts and Industries Building when I got to perform my rendition of our National Anthem for 25 young people from around the world who officially became U.S. citizens during the Smithsonian Folklife Festival's program "On the Move: Migration Across Generations." I can't think of too many better ways to perform my civic duties as an American, than to welcome immigrants to this great country! #50yearsofFolklife Thank you Scott Linford for taking this video!

What a wonderful honor for you, the banjo, and for 25 new citizens!
