After seeing this photo I went to two local used "junk" shops and came away with two tambourines without usable heads. The nicest one is identical to the one pictured and since I have one finished and one almost finished neck I will use both pots for tackheads. This is really a convenient method of building the pot. $12 for both pots. With a little luck you may find one with a decent skin. A couple of weeks ago I built one with a working tambourine with a pig skin head I had laying around and it worked really well. Just a thought for you cheap-skate builders like me.

Intersting how (in the above photo) the neck is intricately and decoratively carved while the pot is simply an old tambourine modified to be an adjustable skin head pot, but with little if any decoration.
