Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

I have usually overcome the 3-2-0 pull off by striking the 3 then pulling off the 2 to 0. I always assumed it was a cheat of sorts. However this becomes a bit harder when it is a triplet.

Is this actually two back to back pull offs? Or anything goes so long as it rolls like a triplet? Wanna make sure I am stopping bad habits if needed and practicing the correct technique.

This is from Andrew Leavitt's Jig in Buckley 1868. But it occurs a few times in the book and is currently the main reason I haven't messed with a few tunes I enjoy.
