After 41 years of looking I finally found the banjo I always dreamed of, but thought I'd never see, except maybe in a museum. This instrument is very similar to one donated to the new African American history museum by Bob Winans. It's in excellent, completely unaltered condition with all original hardware. Due to wood shrinkage the action was far to high to be playable, but with the help of John Pringle, a friend and renowned luthier who lives a few miles down the road I was able to successfully reset the neck without altering or damaging the integrity of the instrument. I've played it for about a month now and gotten used to the 27 inch scale length and fifth string peg coming up out of the bottom of the neck. I'm still pinching myself to make sure this is all real.--Rob
