    Rob,

Living down in Birmingham AL.... don't have your phone number.  You can send it to me at mark@markhobson.net   It would be good to talk with you!

Thanks, Rob, for the welcome.  Since you say I got you into this I guess I will have to applogise for all the trials,  troubles and hardships you are enduring here on this site.  Tim Twiss  sent me an email and said I better get on the stick and join.  So here I am.  I am still a head-ducking country boy in here wondering which button to push to make things work.  Gotta get my profile etc. together and get my self in order.

Rob,  Thanks for the comment and welcome to Minstrel Banjo.  I am a relative beginner to clawhammer banjo, although I've played and sung some old time/bluegrass  off and on for years. Look forward to learning and meeting some banjo players of the minstrel style and giving it a go myself.  Would love to get involved with some Civl War band folks.  I live in Southeast Pennsylvania.

    Thanks again.

    Marc

    Rob,

The weather conjecture (from the Hagerstown, MD Almanack) reads

    "June...17-21 fair, very warm; 22 - 23 cooler, sever storms; 24 - 30 fair..."

Just looked it up after your comment regarding the weather. Hope to see you there!

    Bruce

Bruce--So, if I've got this right it will be fair with severe storms and very warm and cool.  That's just how it was last year..Hmmm, quite a coincidence.--(It rained all night the day I left, the weather it was dry, the sun so hot I froze to death, etc.)---Rob

  • Scott Danneker

    Thanks Rob,

I shall take your advice with the Clarion.  The only period attire that I have is my old confederate uniform.   If I leave all the all the army type accccessories at home, do you think could I get by with it?

    Thanks again,

    -Scott

To Scott Danneker -- I stay at the Clarion Hotel In Shepherdstown, WV.  It's a staight shot about 10 minutes away.  I usually just wear period costume on Saturday when we play for the public.--Rob"

  • Rob Morrison

Scott--Yes--Remember that they wore undyed wool socks.  We don't really have a lot of "stitch counters" at this thing.  It's all about the music and being with other crazy people with a similar interest.--Rob

Clothes get you "in the mood'...and is great fun, but as Rob sadi...not essential. One other tip is all all the stuff on the strip in Hagerstown. Lots of choices...and pretty close. I did that my first year, but not i am up hidden in the woods with my North Face tent.

  • Tim Twiss

    I meant...now I am hidden up...
