What a delightful set of clippings. It is interesting to read the response of reviewers unfamiliar with the banjo. Thank you so much for posting this!
Thanks, John. I found it interesting that Christy's Minstrels were playing for at least 12 nights. They must have been hugely poular. It seems that Sweeny was the trailblazer.

Interesting to see Mr. Mackney show up. A lady from Oz sent me copies of his tutor a while back. I can't recall when it was published, I'll have to dig around and see if I can find it.
