Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

I am going to start a new thing....TAB of the week. I will put up a tune in tab weekly. Either something from my archive, something I am working on, or requests. I think this will be fun. No obligation to play them, but it will offer something new. I got inspired by doing the Spanish Fandango for a member here. So...Mondays, get ready for new tunes to build your library with.

Nice! I will try and give that fandango a try this week.

Looking forward to this, thanks Tim.

That's wonderful Tim, and generous of you as well.

This week in TAB of the Week, a period song involving a little experimentation out of the box. Certainly a counter to any child's piano lessons ringing through the house. Come back with BANJO as we visit Mr, Ludwig Van.

Bridging over to Classical themes was common practice for early banjo once it got past the plantation song stuff. But then again, it was all strangely melded together somehow.

Is it in D or G tuning?

With TAB...you are liberated to do as you please. Could be C for all it matters.

So - that would be 'low bass'?

Thanks!
