All the early books claim to be "tutorials" but they lack any sense of logical progression. You get a lot of theory, and them the book leaps from easy to difficult with no sense of direction. Earlier this year, I wrote a series of 10 Etudes for Stroke Banjo. I'll put up some videos where I break them down and talk about them.
