Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Here is my first feeble attempt at recording a tune. Do Mr. Booker Do from From Phil. Rice's Correct Method for the Banjo. Standard tuning (dGDF#A). Played on my homemade Boucher banjo. From the Joe Sweeney repertoire. Different versions are also called "Jonny Boker" or "Joe Sweeney's Jig."

I actually learned it from Bob Flesher's tab. I am trying to learn to read music, but in the short term I am using tab and creating my own when I can't find a tab I am interested in.

After 6 months of hard work, playing at least 20 minutes at a time, 3 or 4 times a week, taking breaks for beer, rum, or whiskey, this is the best I can do!

Bravo, and a good entry here. Keep going ...I'm sure you'll find that recording something and posting it will "up your game" so to speak.
