Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

I am looking for information about a song played in General JEB Stuart's camp called Bonnie Jean.  It is apparently different from the version collected by Robert Burns.  I am seeking sheet music, MP3, or video.  The only reference I have is by a Confederate Texas soldier who saw Bob Sweeney playing it on the march.  He was playing it on a banjo.  Thanks.

It was quite common that the melodies and lyrics sung in America were different than those performed in Scotland.  I will have my Scottish expert (Elaine) look into this.

Elaine had downloaded it a while ago.  Here is a link to our copy:

Let me know if you have any problem downloading it.  It is in a public download folder.

Thanks!  This helps a lot!
