Wow, what a weekend!

Many many thanks to Mark Weems and David Wooldridge,  James Pentacost and Tom Taggert, Dave Kirshner and Rob Mohr, Paul Draper and Joe Ayres and especially Jacalyn "why are the blues so bad for your vision" Thomas.  What a time!  I'll never miss this event again if I can help it.

Sorry I had to drop out early this morning but I ended up having to drive back to Lexington, VA to pick up our generator and chain saw in anticipation for the hurricane that now seems to be turning south of us.

I only wish that we could do this more than once a year.

Back from Appomattox, unpacked, and trying to get tent dried out. That may take awhile. However, this was a great event and well worth the trip. Great folks, great food, and of course GREAT music. I think the weather held down the number of the visitors compared to last year, but those who were there really seemed to enjoy our playing. Came away from Mark's workshop with the seed of a new (to me) tune that I hope to be proficient on by next year. Looking forward to doing this again next year. Thanks to all who helped make this a great event again.

Great time had by all!! J want to thank everyone for being so hospitable and friendly. Very welcoming and no pretensions and patient. Lots of great music and talk of the era that produced the banjo and the music we all enjoy. I walked away with a lot information, tunes rattling around in my head, and a little bit of that magic that makes the banjo sing (which I had very little, if any at all lol). I am looking forward to next year, and plan on coming with some new tunes, more confidence, and more skill.

Thanks to David, Mark, and James for organizing this; to Jacalyn for the feast(s); to David and the Friends of the Park for the wonderful gifts and Saturday night meal; to every who shared something musical and otherwise; AND to Dave K. for dropping his drawers at the Saturday night jam session hahah...

Thank you Paul and Mark for the excellent workshops. And to my early morning singing buddy and maker of the newest addition to my instrumental family and to the other Dave for your help and lovely gifts. If you didn't come this year you need to come next year. You missed something really special.
